Six Sentence Sunday "If There Never Is A Tomorrow"

Jim grabbed her the minute she got to the door and pinned her against the wall, all the while trying to shove his tongue down her throat.  “Jimmy, stop.” She pushed him off embarrassed by this sudden show of affection.
He seemed amused by that.  “Relax baby, no harm is showing you some love.”
He took her hand and started down the steps.
“Gee, thanks for the interdiction Jim.  Oh I forgot, I’m just your ride.” The guy that was with him said as they reached her apartment door.
“Oh, my bad brother.  Annabel, this is my buddy Nate.  Nate, this is my sexy girl, Annabel. Isn’t she sexy as hell?” Jim introduced them.
Nate looked as uncomfortable as Anne did.  “Yeah, she’s cute.”  He agreed and followed them into the apartment.

Six Sentence Sunday new WIP "If There Never Is A Tomorrow"

Instead of my six sentences, I wanted to share the opening paragraph from my new WIP, "If There Never Is A Tomorrow".  Let me know what you think...

A single tear escaped her eyes and just as quick, a soft breeze emerged through the trees.  Fall had truly come and with it, another thing to cross off the list.  Anne held her camera up as she sat on the bridge, the bike path beneath her, and made sure she could get the fall colors of the trees behind her.  Her auburn hair blew slightly and her hazel eyes held the sadness of the person she was missing deeply.  She knew she would never look at the picture; it would just stay on the memory card until she could finally look at them.  When the time was right, and she missed him the most, that was what he had said over and over.  He told her not to cry, hold on to memories, they could live there forever.  If that was true, then why couldn’t he…

Six Sentence Sunday "Autumn Wind" Cool Uncle Kevin

It's a little longer then six, but I had to put the whole thing in there so you get the just of it. Enjoy!

“Hey, love bug, got a deal for you.  I’ll try them with you.” Kevin said and got on the floor next to her.  He took her spoon and put a little of the orange goo and marshmallows on it for her.  Then he put the rest on his spoon and swallowed hard dreading the taste of them.  She watched him intently as he tried not to make any faces about what he was going to do for her.  “Okay on 3 we eat them.  Ready 1, 2, 3” He counted and then stuffed them in his mouth trying hard not to gag.
Missa made a face and looked at Mark.  “I tried them and I really don’t like them.  Do I have to eat anymore Uncle Mark?” She asked. Mark was trying not to laugh.
Nick laughed knowing how much Kevin hated sweet potatoes.   “No princess, you don’t have to.  Finish your dinner.”
Kevin went back to his seat and just as he was about to spit them out Nick tried to keep a straight face.  “She is still watching you and if you do what I think you’re going to do, she will never trust you again.”
Kevin swallowed hard and then grabbed his glass of wine and downed it.  Trying hard not to gag, he looked at his older brother and said, “And that dear brother is why I’m cool Uncle Kevin.  God I hate those things.”

Six Sentence Sunday "Autumn Wind"

While she sipped her wine, he stared at her letting his hand rub her cheek. “I missed you,” He spoke softly; glad he was finally home with her.
“How much longer will you have to do this?”
Nick took the glass from her and held her.  “I hope not for much longer.  But Chlo, this is going to be so great for us in the long run.  I’m learning so much from all of this.  If it keeps up baby, we are going to want for nothing.”
She took his hand and held it.  “But you are missing so much right now.  The past year we have only seen you for 1 week out of the month.  I understand, but Missa doesn’t.  She keeps asking for you at night and I don’t know what to say anymore.”

Six Sentence Sunday "Summer Rain"

Nick stroked her hair and held her gently in his arms. “Chloe, it’s over now. You know what the real truth is. Tell me.”
“I don’t know anymore,” she cried softly.
It was starting to get dark but he didn’t care, and if Shelly had a problem with it, he would take her away with him tonight. He had to fix what they had done to her. He decided to start with her mother. “Your mother was a beautiful person who loved you dearly. She was not a whore and she didn’t want to leave you. You know that. You read her letter to you. Chloe, you are just like her. You have her heart, her beauty, and her smile.”
“I miss her so much,” She cried softly.
Nick closed his eyes, feeling her pain in away. “I know you do.

For Team Kilah

Kilah
It’s no secret that the last year and a half of my life has been an emotional roller coaster of sorts.  I have been fighting a losing battle to keep my niece from the same fate that her baby sister met.  I reflect on those last few weeks of Chloe’s life almost daily and in some ways still feel like I failed her.  Although the person who was responsible for her death has finally admitted neglect, they only did so that criminal charges would not be filed against them if an extensive investigation was started.  Chloe’s medical records were never looked at, if fact, while she was alive and I begged for them to be looked at, my pleas fell on deaf ears, and a few weeks later, she was gone.
Chloe
So why am I posting about this?  I guess because I will always feel like I failed Chloe and I will forever do what I can to make that right.  I know in my heart I did everything I could, but still, all I have left of that sweet little girl is her picture and her favorite doll I keep in the bottom drawer of my nightstand that still smells like her and I can’t bare to hold because every time I do the tears start again and I can’t make them stop.
Last night a very dear friend of mine posted something that opened all those flood gates again and I saw my chance to help a little girl named Kilah. I really know nothing about her except what I have read, I will never meet her because she live somewhere else, but in many ways reminds me so much of little Chloe.  I couldn’t help Chloe or now her older sister who will be returned to the person who caused Chloe’s death. But maybe this will be the start of something big.  There is a petition to make the laws harder on those who hurt or kill a child and make them register like pedophiles.  One that right now is starting in NC and hopefully will go national. I’m asking that anyone who reads this, go to the blog page for Kilah and read her story.  Then click on the link for Change.org and sign this petition. Do it for the ones like Chloe who lost their voice and the ones like Kilah who still have one.

Six Sentence Sunday "Summer Rain"

“Come back to me,” he whispered.
She smiled at that, and turned around and kissed him hungrily. He touched her face as they kissed and she purred as he pulled her closer.
“Good morning, Beautiful,” he said in between their kisses.
“Good morning, Lover,” She giggled. “I didn’t want to wake you so I came out here,” she explained as he held her.
“Okay, so I’m awake. Come back to bed.”
“We have to get moving. Breakfast will be here soon and then we have to go to our other rooms,
she reminded him.
“Yeah, I kind of forgot about the other rooms. I like this one. It has sentimental meaning now,” he
teased. She giggled at that and hugged him.
